Arden

asain girl

Published annually, CSU's student art and literary journal, Arden, accepts submissions of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction and publishable art from current students and faculty. Featuring a four-color cover and professional binding, the journal attempts to represent the best of the university community’s creative efforts in literature and the arts. Each year’s staff, made up entirely of CSU students and sponsored by Department of English faculty, establishes a submission deadline in December. After a “blind” selection process, the staff identifies works to be included, edits and formats the journal, and coordinates printing with a local firm. The year’s edition is unveiled at the magazine’s reception ceremony, held late in the spring semester at the Smith-McCullers House, childhood home of world-famous Columbus writer Carson McCullers. The results are then announced in the contests for best prose, poetry and art, and the winners receive their prizes.
